An antique iron baby bed is something that some parents may find slightly odd. After all, iron doesn’t seem to go with the soft, cushy image we have cultivated about our young. Iron symbolizes strength to our minds, and permanence; yet childhood is characterized by frailty and even mores o by the fleeting nature of childhood. Every parent has looked at a child and wondered where the years went.

But to some, an antique iron baby bed runs as a nice counter-point to the fleetingness. The bed seems to say… “in ten years, your child won’t fit me anymore, but I will still be here, for you to show them how far they have come. That type of permanence has been lost to many in this age of convenience and instant gratification.
