Cast iron beds are some of the most elegant and stylish beds available today and have the added bonus of being some of the toughest and longest lasting as well. Not only do they look great and last forever, they are quite pleasant to sleep, rest and lounge in.

The different between cast iron beds and wrought iron beds is in the way they are constructed. A wrought iron bed was forged in the heat of the blacksmiths fire and pounded into shape forcefully and accurately. This makes for a stronger material and better crafted and more beautiful bed complete with its own unique imperfections. This is how theses beds were made back in the day hundreds of years ago.

Cast iron beds are made from a mold which was cast from an existing bed. They are always replications of an earlier bed and can be reproduced until the cast wears out. This means these beds are far from unique and aren’t as strong as a wrought iron bed, but they are actually affordable costing thousands less than a handmade iron bed.
