Half canopy iron beds offer a very luxurious style to any room and are often styled with Victorian era designs. They have large headboards that often extend most of the way to the ceiling and have a curtain that drapes around the back of the bed and partially over the top and sides. Often the curtains will be omitted leaving only an exposed frame that serves stylistic purposes over actual functionality.

Half canopy iron beds can be antique wrought iron, modern wrought iron reproductions and originals, or be cast iron replications and original designs. Cast iron beds are much cheaper because they are easy to reproduce and can be widely copied. Wrought iron is exclusively handmade which drives up the price but ensures quality craftsmanship and is stronger and longer lasting than cast iron.

Half canopy iron beds can be found from a wide variety of retailers and custom models can always be commissioned from able blacksmiths. It is an art form that is seeing a resurgence due to the quality of the work and the life of the material which could easily last for 500 years or longer in the right conditions.
